‘Together with my seminar participants, I translate the timeless strategies and tactics of the great men and women of history into the present of today's leaders. This has been common practice in China (e.g. with ‘The Art of War’ by Sun Tzu) for thousands of years, but has unfortunately been forgotten in Europe. However, ‘our’ European historical counsellors and advisors actually have more to offer than their Chinese counterparts. Goals of the seminar
- Familiarise managers with management tasks and their possible solutions
- Become aware of the strategies and tactics that managers employ or that are employed against them, whether by their employees or external competitors.
- Practising leadership principles and stratagems as well as defending against and thwarting competitors' unfriendly measures and stratagems
The underlying historical references broaden your own education, and the derivation from concrete historical examples and stories makes it easier to internalise the management principles and stratagems.
The focus is on recruiting mentors, dealing with superiors, gaining and retaining allies, building and mobilising networks, dealing with your own weaknesses (and strengths), making the right decisions, your own legitimacy, consistency and credibility as a manager, the basics of employee motivation, professional appearance and the credible creation of your own image.

Dr phil. Justinus Pieper MA, born in 1974, graduated in history, sociology and political science in Göttingen, Berlin and Vienna, Magister Artium at the University of Göttingen, doctorate at the University of Vienna on leadership strategies in xenophones, enthusiastic about sustainable management strategies on an ethical basis - with the seal of approval of history. He works for medium-sized companies (including Gindele GmbH) as well as international corporations (including Audi AG, Siemens-Nokia, Mast-Jägermeister SE), foundations (including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation), chambers (including the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce), clubs and associations (including VDI, VBI, VBKI). 2016 teaching award winner at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin, until July 2019 visiting professor at Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin, initiator and moderator of the ‘We meet Business’ series, guest lecturer at HWR Berlin (until March 2020), winner of the FinAF Award (in cooperation with IfKom) for ethical and sustainable leadership 2020. Since 2020 research assistant, Chair of Prof. Ralph Dreher (TVD), University of Siegen.
